A Vernon Golf and Country Club Wedding Sampler
Funny enough, the ring shots always get the most instagram likes. It’s my number one search term, and according to my google analytics, people spend the most time looking at those photos. Why wouldn’t I feature it, then? Because this is a capitalistic business, and I like that train shot best. Plus, I feel it illustrates the feeling between these two. It was a simple and elegant wedding, I feel it would have looked the exact same if it had taken place in the 1940’s. And that’s how we begin this sampler.
That being said, we’re still gonna do ring shots. Because I love them.
Also keep in mind, this is a sampler. Not all the photos are here, not by a long shot. This is to let you know you’ve found the right website by the right photographer. Come back in a week or so for all the photos. Trust me, they’re going to rock your world. And your socks.
It was the perfect sunny afternoon. Lately it’s been 43º-ish, but the clouds covered the sun for this special day. Sunflowers and real lavender filled the house with country smells.
The guys were both nervous and giddy. Having just arrived from The Gentlemen’s Shave Parlour, they looked sharp and ready to go.
I get asked (albeit by other photographers) about my color theory. I come up with a few tones I like, then I stick to them throughout the album. If I change a color scheme, I’ll do it gradually. This isn’t just post production. You have to keep this in mind throughout the entire wedding. Above, I went from bright to dark to black and white. In the next few shots I’m going to be warming it up – slowly increasing my contrast, brightness, and saturation until I get my intended look (somewhere in the train shots).
At the girl’s house, we had a little trouble figuring out who’s shoes were who’s.
Looks like Amanda wasn’t the only one who was intending on getting married. 😀
The ceremony and procession went extremely well. Location was between Vernon and Kelowna, on Oyama road. There’s a park right past Pioneer Park.
Winter had found herself a boyfriend. Looks like I’ve got to clear up my calendar for my next wedding!
A few more photos and then it’s time to eat! And first dance.
I love these photos the best, of the entire day, because I feel it illustrates the day so profoundly. A good photo should be like a catchy song. You’d like to see it again and again. It evokes a feeling, brings you back to a place you love. That’s what these photos do for me.
These two lovebirds couldn’t keep their hands off each other. The way they looked at each other. I tried to capture it best I could.
Fun fact: When I was three days old, my parents brought me to my Aunt and Uncle’s wedding. Although I was only three days old, my parents told me I enjoyed it immensely. That was the day I made the decision that I’m going to be part of every wedding possible. This little angel above had the same kind of look I had at my first wedding. Just completely blown away that this much fun is even possible. I think I’ve got a second shooter in a good 21 years!
I know what you’re thinking. Sure, Eric’s got some pretty good shots, but can he arrange a group photo of fairly buzzed wedding guests at 11pm right beside the dance floor with music blaring and still get a perfect arrangement with off camera bounced flash?
I’m happy to report the answer is yes. I can.
Why would I choose this image to end the album? I like it, that’s why.
