A Soaking Wet Wedding Sampler

You know the thought that pops into my head the most while I’m shooting weddings?

I consider logistics. I calculate my color theory, the balance between colors. I think of the amount of light. Is it hard or soft. Could the photo be improved. Diffuse one or twice.  How’s the pose? Do I have my S-Curve? How big is my pallette, and where’s the dedicated color combo?

But what pops in my head most is: I can’t believe I’m getting paid for this. This is too much fun. It’s technical, artistic, energizing, hilarious, heartfelt, important, timeless, and boy. Is there ever a lot of adventure. No two weddings are the same.

And after, I look at the photos and they almost bring a tear to my eye. The way everything comes together. Months of planning, skill, 11 bridesmaids and groomsmen working tirelessly, parents giving it their everything. And it all ends in this one glorious day in Victoria. Also, this is where it begins.

A ton of support, everyone wishing well and giving it their all.

And the venue was dreamlike. An old farmhouse, a greenhouse, and an orchard. I felt like I was in another time. My mind exploded with all the photographic opportunities.

And then it started raining. Didn’t slow us down. Nothing can stop the love train.

The evening was over before we realized it. The sun had set, it was time to head to our venue.
