From a Bench to the Atrium Sampler
Well, today my brother got married. And what a strange experience it is, being the best man and also taking a few photos.
Our album starts off the way most of them do. We get our detail shots – dress, ring, bouquets if they’re available.
We had the ceremony at the beautiful and relatively unknown Kopje Park. Planted in the grass you’ll find little seed packets. The guests each took one home, and hopefully in the coming summer we’ll see plenty of sunflowers and daffodils.
Yup, that’s me getting a boutonniere pinned to me.
And there we are, all of us ready for the ceremony. It was heartfelt. Both the bride and groom had their own vows, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Time for some formals!
It was fun. Such a contrast between my job and what I was doing on that day. There was work to be done, and it had to be done exactly right or the results wouldn’t be up to par. You can’t just relax and let the day happen. The two of them were great. Laid back, bubbly, and oh my gosh so in love. We finished and nearly didn’t get them back in time.
But we did! There we are at The Atrium, getting ready to enter.
The cake was exquisitely decorated. We knew this cutting would go well.
The two of them gingerly and timidly cut the first pieces.
And fed it to each other in the most loving way possible.
And that’s it! Remember, this is a sampler, a little preview of things to come. Just a few of my favourite photos, before I pass out from exhaustion. If you’d like to be notified when the album is ready, simply put in a message in this form, and I’ll put your name and email on the list. Be sure to specify which wedding! I’ve photographed quite a few this month.
And that’s it! Thank you for reading this far. Feel free to follow me on my Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
